JanSport® Unveils the Skip Yowell Collection
A timeless collection of six leather and canvas bags,
inspired by JanSport co-founder, Skip Yowell

San Leandro, Calif., (August 4, 2011) - JanSport®, the original outdoor gear Brand that equips people globally with quality backpacks, travel gear and collegiate apparel, today unveiled its Skip Yowell Collection, a timeless collection of six bags designed with the versatility to transition from everyday life to unexpected destinations. From rich brown leather backpacks to waxed cotton messenger bags and totes, this authentic collection is bound to get you noticed.

Engineered for function and grace needed to face the challenges of life in the city, the Skip Yowell Collection truly reflects the outdoor functionality and aesthetics at the core of JanSport. The packs are constructed with EVA foam back panels and ergonomically shaped padded shoulder straps for optimal comfort. The antique brass finished hardware and original heritage woven label give the packs a rugged, vintage look. All thoughtful details to equip you for any adventure life throws your way.

The JanSport Skip Yowell Collection is comprised of six unique bags:

Fort Hayes
A pack that goes above and beyond. Literally. Made for road trips and big living, this bag holds larger gear in a hinge-top main compartment with two interior pockets and smaller items in front, quick-access pockets. Constructed from a waxed cotton twill fabric with leather accents, this duffle is full of many unique features, including: dual roll-top side compartments with large hinge opening, two front zippered pockets to secure contents, adjustable seatbelt webbing straps, fully concealed interior shoe pocket, and dual interior drop zones pockets.

Mukilteo
It's not that life in the city is that much harder, you just have to know how to compartmentalize. Everything finds its natural place in a pack that's decked out with a large main compartment, two pockets on the side, and another three on front to keep essentials handy. Constructed with durable and protective leather with red plaid wool lining, it's good for any occasion. The Mukilteo features solid brass zippers and large leather pulls to secure contents, cotton webbing side compression straps that keep the pack close to the body to manage the load and ergonomically shaped padded shoulder straps, padded back panel, and sternum straps.

Pleasanton
For those with fond memories of trips on the mountain, the Pleasanton is a pack for the realities of life. ‘Always prepare' still applies, but now it means having pockets for the modern necessities, including a laptop, quick-access sleeve and an iPad interior slip pocket. The large top opening with a diagonal stash pocket provides easy access, while the front cord management pocket keeps belongings tangle-free. Estes Park
For those who know that traveling light is the best way to travel. Estes Park, a compact messenger bag, fits close to the body - and close to your life. Though being on the move may be the norm, its modern conveniences, like side-entry access and rear ergonomic stash pockets, keep up to pace. Additional features include: a dedicated 13" laptop sleeve with quick side-entry access and roll top access, interior slip pocket for iPad, adjustable shoulder strap with removable padding, bottom compression straps, and wool lining.

Great Bend
The everyday pack for the urban explorer. Behind that streamlined design, the Great Bend still carries quite a load with dual access options via roll-top or front zipper entry to the main compartment, an abundance of pockets, a large organizer and a vertical stash sleeve. Additional features include versatile side drop zones and an easy access electronics pocket.
