JanSport Reveals Band for the Montreal Bonfire Sessions
An outdoor concert featuring special guest band, Stars
San Leandro, Calif., (August 29, 2011) - JanSport®, the original outdoor gear Brand that equips people globally with quality backpacks, travel gear and collegiate apparel, today announced Stars as the special guest band performing at the second stop of the JanSport Bonfire Sessions in Montreal, Quebec.
Set to take place at an undisclosed location on Saturday, September 10, 2011, the Bonfire Sessions will feature a live performance by melodic Montreal-based indie band, Stars. Made up of singer-lyricist Torquil Campbell, keyboardist Chris Seligman, bassist and guitarist Evan Cranley, singer-guitarist, and co-lyricist Amy Millan, and drummer, Pat McGee, the quintet is characterized by lush instrumentation, nimble production, narrative lyrics and soft but nuanced vocals. Often described as "beautiful, eloquent indie pop," the band's style has evolved from an electronic-pop sound as heard on Nightsongs to more rock-based instrumentation on their following three full-length albums, reflecting the permanent additions of Millan and Cranley.
Beginning at 6:00 pm on the eve of the show, JanSport will transport party-goers to the event in style from one undisclosed Montreal bus stop and back. For the exact pick-up location, fans are invited to visit JanSport's music blog, Unzipped (www.jansport.com/unzipped) on September 8, when the Montreal bus stop will be revealed.
The third and final Bonfire Sessions will take place on Friday, September 23. JanSport will announce the last event city and special guest artist in the subsequent weeks, in addition to concert pick-up location two days before the event.
