JanSport® Announces the Grand Prize Winner of its
Third Annual Online Battle of the Bands Competition
The Seedy Seeds will play Sonicbids Official SXSW Party, presented by JanSport
San Leandro, Calif. (April 26, 2011) - JanSport, the original outdoor gear Brand that equips people globally with quality backpacks, travel gear and collegiate apparel, today announced The Seedy Seeds as the Grand Prize Winner of its third annual online Battle of the Bands competition.
As the Grand Prize winner, The Seedy Seeds will receive JanSport's classic Right Pack and luggage set, as well as a three day, two night stay in Austin, Texas for its South by Southwest music festival. On Friday, March 18, 2011, The Seedy Seeds are invited to play at the Sonicbids Official SXSW Party, presented by JanSport from noon to 5 p.m. at Maggie Mae's (www.maggiemaesaustin.com).

Based in Cincinnati, OH, The Seedy Seeds have been writing and performing for the past six years. The concept for the band was born of a casual conversation in late 2005, in which Mike and Margaret hypothesized performing as a group with the instruments they owned but hadn't yet learned to play. The Seedy Seeds began writing, performing, and recording music shortly thereafter. Brian joined in 2008 following the release of "Count The Days," on which he contributed supplemental percussion.
The Seedy Seeds have been acclaimed through various medias via favorable reviews, radio airtime, and titles in three categories at a city-wide award show in two consecutive years.
