JanSport Matches Support for Big City Mountaineers Kids
For every dollar raised this December, JanSport will match up to 10,000

 

San Leandro, Calif., (December 7, 2010) - Beginning December 1, JanSport is putting out a call to action, asking its community around the country to make a difference in the lives of under-resourced teens and donate to its non-profit partner, Big City Mountaineers (BCM), www.bigcitymountaineers.org.

 

JanSport's goal: raise 10,000 in matching support for BCM kids by December 31 to help under-resourced urban youth experience the life-changing BCM programs they need. For every dollar donated, JanSport will match each contribution up to 10,000. As an added incentive, for every 1,000 donation, each donor will receive a JanSport Klamath trail series pack, valued at 120.

 

Since the early 90s, JanSport has sponsored Big City Mountaineers through product and monetary donations to support its core summer programs around the country.  The organization offers week-long wilderness expeditions coupling urban teens with adult mentors as they journey through a curriculum of learning and self-discovery.

 

Not all of Big City Mountaineers' climbers, donors, volunteers, stakeholders, supporters, teachers and guides witness the magic of a BCM trip, but that doesn't mean that each donor isn't vital to the work they do. JanSport believes, with the help of its community, it can transform the lives of under-resourced teens across the country.
