JANSPORT® UNVEILS ITS ONE-OF-A-KIND UPCYCLED PACKS AND TOTES
AT BONNAROO 2010
110 one-of-a-kind packs designed by 2009 festival-goers for sale
exclusively at Bonnaroo this June
San Leandro, Calif., (June 3, 2010) - JanSport, the original outdoor gear Brand that equips people globally with quality backpacks, travel gear and collegiate apparel, today unveiled the first series of its limited edition, one-of-a-kind upcycled packs and totes born from original art created by attendees at the 2009 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.
Festival-goers from the 2009 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival were invited by JanSport to unleash their creativity to become one-of-a-kind backpack designers for the Brand's Reclaimed Art Canvas project. Specifically, attendees went art-wild on 5x15 foot canvases made of JanSport® backpack material. Post-festival, the artwork was showcased online at www.jansport.com/bonnarooartcanvas, where the Bonnaroo community tagged and commented on their work, posted it to Facebook and shared with friends.
This year, JanSport's Reclaimed Canvas will make another appearance at Bonnaroo 2010 from June 10-13 at Planet Roo. In addition, last year's 110 exclusive upcycled rucksacks and totes will be sold on-site for 40 each at the JanSport® tent, located in the Planet Roo section of the festival. All proceeds will go to JanSport's philanthropic partner, Big City Mountaineers, one of the largest non-profits in the country devoted to working exclusively with under-resourced teens by using the outdoors as a transformational element in their lives.
