JanSport has partnered with International Mountain Guides (IMG), an organization that organizes and leads climbing, trekking and mountaineering expeditions around the world, from the classic climbs of the Alps and Andes to the 8,000m peaks of the Himalayas. Since 1986 IMG has conducted hundreds of expeditions to destinations around the globe, and continues to be one of the most respected and active guiding companies in the world.

The partnership leverages the experience of IMG's world-renowned guides, providing JanSport with a means to test its newest technical outdoor gear. In addition, IMG leads JanSport's annual Rainier Seminar, a 38-year-old tradition that brings together 16 individuals from around the globe to summit Rainier, a 14,410 ft mountain in Washington. Big City Mountaineers (BCM) is the country's leading volunteer organization devoted to providing significant mentoring for urban teens during wilderness trips. The BCM program is an eight-day trip, the focus of which is a five-day backcountry backpacking or canoeing experience. While immersed in a pristine wilderness in the company of caring adults, the teens progress along an emotional journey that leaves many transformed with a greater sense of self.

JanSport is proud to lend a hand to Big City Mountaineers by donating technical packs for its Summit for Someone annual benefit climbs, as well as gear for its summer programs.

Mountainfilm in Telluride is America's leading independent documentary film festival. Its mission: "Mountainfilm is dedicated to educating and inspiring audiences about issues that matter, cultures worth exploring, environments worth preserving and conversations worth sustaining." The festival includes a full-day symposium on a pressing contemporary issue such as water (2008), food (2009) and species extinction (2010).

The partnership allows JanSport the opportunity to converge with outdoor enthusiasts and activists from around the world, while helping the festival share these inspiring films with audiences around the world through its Student Ambassador lead programs in the Fall.

Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) works diligently to raise the standards of the industry; increase participation in outdoor recreation to strengthen business markets; provide support services to improve member profitability; represent member interests in the legislative/regulatory process; promote professional training and education; support innovation; and offer cost-saving member benefits.

The partnership leverages the experience and relationships that the OIA and its members have with a variety of government and business organizations, which help inform JanSport about important outdoor initiatives and campaigns in the industry.

The American Mountain Guides Association is a non-profit organization that seeks to represent the interests of mountain guides by providing support, education, and certification standards. The AMGA currently offers training courses and certification exams in the disciplines of rock climbing, alpine climbing and ski mountaineering.
