This Monday we bring you a track from Long Beach, California’s The Fling called Wanderingfoot. The band immediately draws comparisons to 60’s psychedelic pop, a la the Beatles, but also evokes a bit of 90’s rock alternative. Take a listen and tell us what you think. The Fling are on the road for most of the summer touring the Western United States so get out and see them!

This Monday we bring you “Sunlight”, the new single off of The One AM Radio’s latest release, Heaven Is Attached By a Slender Thread. The One AM Radio is masterminded by composer and songwriter Hrishikesh Hirway and combines elements of electonica, pop, folk and post-rock. The One AM Radio’s roots trace back to Hirway’s time studying design and photography at Yale, and oddly enough, to the East coast DIY hardcore scene. Read more here

It’s been three years since Justin Vernon released Bon Iver’s critically acclaimed debut album For Emma, Forever Ago and left fans wondering “where did this guy come from?!” Bon Iver’s follow-up self titled release came out yesterday and we couldn’t be happier. Vernon has done what many artists can’t or won’t: take a departure from a proven model and allow themselves to grow as an artist. Aside from the obvious addition of more diverse instrumentation, Bon Iver is an altogether diffent beast then the first album. The Village Voice says it better than we can, but long story short, count on this album being at the top of every “best of” list this year.
Make sure to watch the video for “Calgary” above: beautiful song with a video to do it justice.
It’s Monday again and that means new tunes! This week’s song is from LA rockers Useless Keys. “White Noise” comes from the DNA of mid-90’s alternative rockers like the Smashing Pumpkins, similar to their LA counterparts, Silversun Pickups. The band spent most of last summer touring with a who’s who of indie heavies including Warpaint, Band of Skulls, The Rifles, and Crystal Antlers and is currently in the studio working on their first full-length to follow up their debut, Is the Painting Changing EP.
Enjoy!
