After winning the annual JanSport Battle of the Bands last February and making the trip to perform at our SXSW showcase, Indiana rockers Hotfox have spent the last 8 months playing regional shows and writing music for a follow-up to their debut LP You, Me, and the Monster.

Now, the band is ready to hit the studio but they need everyone’s help to get there. They’ve just launched a Kickstarter to raise the funds necessary to get into the studio. The model Kickstarter provides is proving to be a savior to independent artists that don’t have the immediate capital to fund their recordings. It allows fans to basically “loan” the artist money to produce a record, and in return, fans get a copy of the record when it is finished along with other added benefits the band can come with.

If you love Hotfox as much as we do, check out their Kickstarter and throw them a few bucks. Donations start as low as $5, and this gets you the new album when it’s ready along with a digital download of their I Think Something Weird EP.
