JanSport Unzipped Compilation: Volume 2 contributors Big Tree are releasing their brand new Little EP tomorrow, just in time to give you something to listen to other than the cable news talking heads on election day.
The San Francisco based quintet recorded three new tracks last July with tUnE-yArDs engineer Eli Crews at his Oakland Studio. The group decided to take the old fashioned route and record all three tracks straight to 2-inch tape with live, uncut and un-dubbed takes. The approach paid off, and Little EP presents a rich, warm, and very live sound giving the listener the same sense of intimacy and raw energy of the bands in-person performances.
The three studio tracks are available as a digital download via the band’s Bandcamp page. The download also includes 3 live tracks from the band’s June show at SF’s Rickshaw Stop, album artwork, and sheet music for the three new songs.
Big Tree will be hosting two West Coast release parties in the coming weeks: November 9th at LA’s Hotel Cafe, and November 15 at San Francisco’s Cafe Du Nord.
