Our favorite part of SXSW, other than all of the free day parties and non-stop music, is how many great new artists happen across (usually unintentionally) every year. The Preservation was one of them from this year’s festival back in March.
The Preservation are Austin locals and are quickly making a name for themselves not just around Texas but also nationally. Formed in 2009, the band is literally a perfect representation of the Austin, TX musical melting pot with members from both coasts.
The sound of the Preservation’s recently released debut full length, Two Sisters, lends itself perfectly to your summer days on the beach, roadtripping it through the desert, and anywhere else where you’re content just “being”. With a light-hearted sound combining elements of Beatles-pop, country, and Americana, the songs on Two Sisters just make you smile. If you’re a fan of the Fruit Bats or Wilco, you’ll surely love these guys (and gal)!
