My fiance and I just returned from an 10 day trip to Kauai. The only bag I brought was the Salish pack. It was great as a travel bag and worked out perfectly on our 3-day backpacking trip along the Na Pali Coast. There were two things about the bag that stood out most. The first was that I could put my water bottle into the backpack with ease while hiking! This was awesome. I am not a camelback user. I usually clip a water bottle below my shoulder strap and it bangs against my hip while hiking and ski touring, so this feature was very exciting for me. The second thing that I love about the Salish is the colors. The bright colors make me smile

Currently I’m in Joshua Tree about to take my Rock Instructors Course with AMGA. I’ve had the chance to take the Salish out on some climbs and have been using it around town. The design seems more streamlined than others I wear. I really like the two big pockets in front–the perfect, easy-to-get-to open space that I can fill to the brim. I will say too that the pack’s hip belt and shoulder straps are really thick and comfy.
