JanSport makes an appearance at the 24th annual Appalachian Trail Days in Damascus, VA from May 14-16, 2010.

To kick off the weekend’s festivities, JanSport will host Trail Days Movie Night, Friday, May 14 from 7pm to 9pm at the Rock School Auditorium, featuring Running Down The Man and the award-winning documentary film, The Skip Yowell Story, followed by a Q&A with adventure-junkie extraordinaire, Skip Yowell, co-founder of JanSport.

Running Down The Man, directed by Ben Knight and Travis Rummel, features Frank Smethurst and Brad Ellis (and their ten-weights) as they stalk roosterfish along the beaches of Baja, Mexico in a wind-sprint-driven effort to disprove the longstanding theory that you can’t catch a roosterfish on a fly.

The Skip Yowell Story, directed by Richard Harris III, is the tale of Skip Yowell’s journey, from small-town Kansas boy, to adventure-junkie extraordinaire, to respected mountaineer. This warm-hearted and funny film, which premiered at the 2009 Mountainfilm Festival in Telluride, CO (www.mountainfilm.org), recounts Skip’s unorthodox journey to the top of the Outdoor Industry. Complete with footage from his adventures around the world and intimate interviews with the people that accompanied him along the way, The Skip Yowell Story offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at how a small-town hippie built a successful company during the Summer of Love.

Join JanSport May 14-16 in the campground area from sun-up to sun-down for special pack demos of its new Cloud Ripper Series (www.jansport.com/cloudripper), in addition to free pack repairs and giveaways.
